BARBARA BLACK BIO
Barbara Black is an award-winning poet, short fiction and flash fiction writer. Her short story collection Music from a Strange Planet was voted 49th Shelf’s 2021 Best Books of the Year. Her writing has been published in national and international literary journals and anthologies including Bath Flash Fiction Volume Five and Six, The Cincinnati Review, Geist, The Hong Kong Review and Prairie Fire. Achievements include: fiction finalist in the 2020 National Magazine Awards; winner of the 2017 Writers’ Union of Canada Short Prose Competition and most recently, winner of the Federation of BC Writers Literary Contest 2021 in the flash fiction category. She lives, gardens and motorcycles in Victoria, BC.
